Khattar orders panel to take stock of Unitech projects, assets

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon TL Satyaprakash to discuss complaints registered against the Unitech Group in the city.

The meeting was held to form a committee for taking stock of all assets and liabilities of Unitech within the country and abroad, so as to provide relief to the allottees of various housing projects developed by it in Gurgaon. The meeting also involved giving an ear to the grievances of the RWAs of Uniworld Gardens 2, Nirvana Country in Sector 50 and South City 2.

The presidents of the RWAs complained that Unitech was supposed to complete and hand over 896 apartments and 159 EWS flats in Uniworld Gardens 2 to its customers by September 2011.

But they are yet to receive their allotments. Similar complaints were filed by residents of South City 2 and Nirvana Country.

Khattar heard 24 complaints, most of which were adressed on the spot. Unitech builders sent Ramesh Chandra on its behalf.

The CM gave two weeks to Unitech to produce a list of its projects and assets with a timeline and to submit it to the headquarters of Town and Country Planning department in Chandigarh. He added if Unitech failed to do so, the department would be free to start a probe against it by looking into all financial aspects of these projects.

About illegal guesthouses running in HUDA and MCG areas, the CM directed the officials concerned to prepare a list of all such facilities. He said either the guesthouses should be shut down or get regularised by a policy, which would soon be framed by the government.
