Khattar inks MoUs of Rs 20,000 cr during Pravasi Haryanvi Divas

If the first day of the Pravasi Haryanvi Divas (NRI Haryanvis event) was about showcasing the cultural aspects of Haryana, the second day was all about business meetings and exploring investment opportunities in the state.

Various important ministers from Haryana who came to the event discussed about the investment opportunities with the NRI Haryanvis. Later in the afternoon, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that 24 MoUs were signed between the State Government and the NRI investors.

Khattar said that the signing of MoUs will bring in the investment of Rs. 20,000 crores in the state. The Chief Minister stated that investments will be done in the fields of information technology, electronics, tourism, entertainment, sports, healthcare and development of infrastructure in the state.

The Chief Minister also announced the slew of measures to woo the NRIs of the state.  Khattar said that the Haryana Government would set up a helpline number and the online portal to assist NRI Haryanvis. The helpline number will be 8968420002. Khattar also announced two days Haryana darshan from January 12 and January 13 wherein the State Government will sponsor the tour of NRIs in different tourist spots of Haryana.  The Chief Minister urged the NRI Haryanvis to adopt any village in Haryana and aid in developing the infrastructure of that village.

The rounds of felicitating the renowned Haryanvis went on even on the second day.

Medal winning wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat and boxer Vijender Singh were awarded by the Haryana Government for their contribution in the field of sports.

While the Union Minister Piyush Goyal came on the first day, Central Ministers Smriti Irani and VK Singh came on the second day. This is for the first time that an event to commemorate the NRIs from the state has been organised by the State Government.

In the inaugural event, 400 NRI Haryanvis from 33 countries came for the event. Besides the NRIs, various renowned Haryanvis also took part in the two day mega event.
