Khanjawla residents protest against rising theft, snatching cases

Residents of Khanjawla staged a protest and blocked roads against rapid increase in cases of snatching, theft and burglary in the area on Sunday.

Residents gathered outside the Khanjawla police station and slammed the Delhi Police over carelessness. They alleged that police’s callousness encouraged miscreants to commit crime more often.

Residents were also angry over the slow action taken by the police after the registration of a case. “In many snatching and theft cases, we have provided the CCTV footage, but the police failed to identify and nab the culprits. In the recent past, the number of street crime and theft cases have increased. Despite security provided by the residents’ welfare association, criminals have a free hand in the area,” said Rajneesh, a resident.
