Keshari Nath Tripathi to pen songs for a bilingual film on nationalistic values

One of the poems of West Bengal Governor K N Tripathi, who is a distinguished poet, will be used as a song in an upcoming bilingual movie on patriotism and nationalistic values.

The song for the movie “Jowar Bhata” in Bengali and “Rishtey” in Hindi will be sung by BJP leader and Union MOS for heavy industries Babul Supriya.

Veteran actor and FTII director Gajendra Chauhan will act in the role of a doctor in the film.

“The director came to me and narrated the story. He liked one of my poems. He wanted to use it as a song in his movie. I gave him the permission to use it,” Tripathi said.

Tripathi said he was happy that his song was being used in a movie and that he would also be present during the screening of it.

The film will be directed by Kolkata-based filmmaker Milan Bhowmick who had directed a few movies in the past.

“We are happy that Honourable Governor has allowed us to use his poem. The poem, which we will be using as a song fits the sequence and the theme of the film,” Bhowmick said.

Gajendra Chauhan plays the role of a doctor, who is the son of an ex-military officer played by Alok Nath.

“The movie is about patriotism, nationalistic values and how in the existing system an ex-military officer, who has scarified everything for his country, draws less pension than a retired politician. The song penned by the Governor reflects the pathos and pain of a soldier,” Bhowmick said.

Gajendra Chauhan said,” Every human being has an artistic side. It only needs a trigger to flourish. 

We all know that Honourable Governor is a poet, who has penned several poems.”
