Kejriwal replies to EC notice

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday replied to Election Commission (EC) over his bribery remarks in which he suggested that voters should accept money, if offered by BJP and Congress. In his reply, Kejriwal has stated about his commitment towards the cause of clean politics in the country and ending malpractices in elections. The AAP chief apologised for his statement but said the remark is a way to stop ‘note for vote’ practice.

Responding to the notice issued by the EC, Kejriwal said, “I will not repeat my bribe remark unless the Model Code of Conduct is in place.” During a public rally on January 18 at Uttam Nagar, Kejriwal had stirred a controversy by asking voters to take money from both the parties but vote for AAP in the Delhi Assembly elections. “I appeal to the people of Delhi to accept bribes from Congress and BJP. The money they will pay you for votes is money they have stolen from us. Take bribes from the Congress and BJP, but vote for AAP,” said the former CM.
