Kathak meets through the Yin and Yang

Synergy between the two budding Kathak artistes, through two gharanas put gracefully together lifted the spirits of the audience at Kamani auditorium on 11 April. Shubhi Johari and Amit khinchi took up this unique initiative to bring the finer aspects of Lucknow and Jaipur gharana of kathak on the same platform and named it Samanta.
The audience lapped up their performances, starting from the dual act of Shiva Shakti to their stunning solos. The artists danced away to glory in the final act with a composition formed with Raag Darbari and Taal Ada Chautaal.
It couldn't get bigger for a young budding kathak artist Shubhi Johari when Pt. Birju Maharaj called her the future of Kathak dance after her stunning performance.
