Karuna’s wife visits Jaya

DMK president M Karunanidhi’s wife Rajathi Ammal visited Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on Thursday night to enquire about the health condition of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa who has been undergoing treatment there since September 22. DMK sources said the DMK leader’s wife paid a visit to the hospital at 7.30pm and met Jayalalithaa’s friend Sasikalaa Natarajan.

“Rajathi Ammal wished the chief minister a speedy recovery,” said a party leader. It is likely that Rajathi Ammal’s daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi also would visit the hospital. 

Rajathi Ammal’s visit comes close on the heels of DMK treasurer M K Stalin and senior leaders S Duraimurugan and K Ponmudi visiting the hospital on Saturday.  The leaders called on Lok Sabha deputy speaker M Thambidurai, finance minister O Panneerselvam and health minister C Vijaya Baskar and enquired about the CM’s health and conveyed the DMK president’s wishes for a quick recovery.
