Karnataka CM’s chopper catches fire, mishap averted

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah’s helicopter caught fire on Saturday morning before take off.
He along with home minister KJ George, public works development minister HC Mahadevappa, CM’s joint secretary M Ramaiah and media coordinator to CM KV Prabhakar were on board and were scheduled to leave to Mysuru from HAL airport in Bengaluru.

They were immediately escorted to safety by security personnel. It is said that fire in the silencer of helicopter broke out due to technical glitches.

The helicopter was of EC 135 make from Delhi-based Prabhatham Aviation. Later, the VIPs took the road to reach Mysore.
