Kangana keeps mystery around Katti Batti alive

Kangana Ranaut, who has emerged as the Queen of female-oriented movies, is now set to impress the audience with her modern-day free-spirited bohemian avatar in Katti Batti. Having unveiled the film's trailer, the actress managed to keep the mystery alive about its narrative and her character.

The trailer of the movie, which also stars Imran Khan, was unveiled here on Sunday.

Talking about the film, Kangana said: “It is a love story, which might not end up like a love story! 
The way this film unfolds... it is non-linear... it is really hard to give you an idea of what’s it’s actually about, especially my character in the film.”

Katti Batti will see Imran essaying a young architect Madhav Kabra and Kangana as the free-spirited 
Payal.

Dropping more hints about the film, Kangana said: “It’s not about pregnancy... I don’t play a double role, I don’t play a Punjabi girl, I don't play an NRI, nor do I get bored in the film... so no such things. There is no genre to the movie. The beauty of the film is that it is very intriguing. Revealing too much right now will take away <g data-gr-id="33">fun</g> and we really don’t want to take that away.”

The film is directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur under UTV Motion Pictures. The film is set to release on September 18. 


I couldn’t do Sultan due to date issues, says Kangana Ranaut
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut said here on Sunday that she could not do Salman Khan <g data-gr-id="73">starrer</g> Sultan mainly because of date issues.

It has been reported that Kangana chose to do Vishal Bharadwaj’s movie ‘Rangoon’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan over Salman Khan <g data-gr-id="72">starrer</g> Sultan, which is backed by Yash Raj Films.
“I had already given dates to Rangoon and that’s why I couldn’t do the film,” Kangana told reporters here.

Reportedly, this is the second time she has rejected a role opposite Salman, with the first one being ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, since she was the first choice to play the lead in Kabir Khan’s film.

Commenting on reports that she has become choosy about roles and increased her fees, Kangana says, “I have always been choosy. Regardless of whether you are successful or not or there are options available or not, you have to choose the best. Earlier, there were not <g data-gr-id="83"><g data-gr-id="82">much</g> options</g> for me but now there are options. So I can afford to be choosy”.

When asked to comment on reports of a “cold war” between her and Deepika Padukone, she <g data-gr-id="76">said</g> “It is Katti Batti.
