Kamduni: Villagers demand permanent police pickets

Villagers from Kamduni in North 24-Parganas visited senior police officers at Bidhannagar Commissionarate demanding a permanent police pickets in the area. Incidentally, it may be mentioned that a city court will pronounce the verdict in connection with the Kamduni rape incident on Thursday. 

The villagers on Wednesday met the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarter) and placed their demand to set up a permanent police picket in the area as they claim there might be some law and order problems at the village after the verdict. 

Senior officials assured the villagers that they were looking into the matter. There was a police pricket in the area since the incident had taken place. The district administration decided to remove the police picket.
