Juvenile duo rapes 6-yr-old, another minor assaulted in West Delhi school
A six-year-old was allegedly raped by two juveniles, who are victim's neighburs, in North-West Delhi's Swaroop Nagar area, police said on Sunday.
The police said the girl was playing with some children outside her house, when the two juveniles, who were also playing, lured her on some pretext. They allegedly took her to a room, where they raped her. They even threatened of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone, police said.
The victim narrated the incident to her mother, who approached the police and filed a complaint against the two juveniles.
The police have recorded the victim’s statement. Her medical reports have confirmed the assault, after which a case under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and under sections of the POCSO Act.
The police have apprehended the juveniles, aged 12 and 15 years, from their residences in Swaroop Nagar and are questioning them. Both of them come from poor families and study at a government school. Further investigation is underway, police said.
In the second incident, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped in DAV Public School in West Delhi's Vikaspuri area by an unidentified person, suspected to be one a worker in the school.
The only mark of identification that the victim told the police was that the accused sported a mustache.
The case was reported on Sunday, after the girl narrated the incident to her mother, who approached the police. The girl told police that while she was in school, when the man took her to a bathroom, where he assaulted her.
The police said, the girl’s medical report had confirmed rape. A case has been registered against the accused and the school principal has been called to join the investigation. The police are also scanning the footage captured by CCTV cameras, installed in the school, to identify the culprit.
