Juvenile accused refuses TIP

On Monday, Raju, the juvenile who was apprehended by Delhi police for his involvement in the gangrape, refused to ungergo the test identification parade(TIP).

‘Early Monday morning while Raju was being taken for the parade, he was caught by few of the prisoners at the juvenile home’s corridor. He was beaten up by them but was saved before long by the cops who were with Raju,’ said a source in Juvenile home. ‘After being beaten up by the prisoners, he became aggressive and refused to go for the TIP,’ the source added. When Ram Singh, the main accused along with Pawan Gupta and Vinay Sharma were sent to 14 days judicial custody on Monday morning, Ram Singh was supposedly beaten up by the prisoners of the Tihar jail. ‘During the scuffle, Ram Singh was accompanied by a few police officials, but the angry prisoners who were well aware of the atrocity  committed but they still attacked him,’ said S Gupta, spokesperson of Tihar Jail. Gupta added that as a precaution, Ram Singh is being kept in a separate prison.

On Wednesday, Akshay Thakur, the sixth accused who has agreed for the TIP, will participate in the parade at Tihar jail. The Delhi police said on Monday that the chargesheet of the Vasant Vihar gangrape against the six accused will be filed within the next seven days.
