Jolie’s By the Sea to open AFI

Angelina Jolie Pitt’s new drama By the <g data-gr-id="14">Sea,</g> will have its world premiere as the opening night film at AFI Festival.

The movie will <g data-gr-id="11">kickstart</g> the festival on November 5. Jolie, who has also directed the movie, stars opposite husband Brad Pitt in the marital drama about a couple visiting a seaside town in France during the 1970s, said the Hollywood Reporter. 

The cast also includes Melanie Laurent, Melvil Poupaud, Niels Arestrup and Richard Bohringer. “AFI has long supported the boldness and experimentation that accompanies provocative cinema,” Jolie said. “As a filmmaker, and on behalf of our cast and crew, I am honored to launch the film at the opening night gala for AFI Fest.”
