Citing non-development and step-motherly treatment by BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh government to Marwahi and Kota constituencies, Congress leader Ajit Jogi’s wife Renu and son Amit are confident of winning the seats in the polls.
Both mother-son duo are aggressively campaigning in the two constituencies and in the rest of Chhattisgarh to ensure Congress’ return in the state to end BJP’s ten-year rule.
Congress has been out of power in Chhattisgarh since 2003.
Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi’s son Amit is contesting from Marwahi constituency (reserved for Scheduled Tribes), while his wife, who is a member of Chhattisgarh legislative assembly, is seeking mandate for her second term from voters of Kota constituency.
Amit, who has undertaken a mass contact programme to woo voters in Marwahi constituency, is quiet confident of ousting BJP government from the state. We are confident of winning not only Marwahi seat but other constituencies of the state as well. I am very confident that Congress will win and form its government in the state,’ Amit told a news agency.
