Jobless boyfriend forces girl into prostitution on pretext of marriage

According to the victim, she was into a relationship for the past five years with a guy called Modi, alias Pradeep, who is a resident of Lajpat Nagar’s Amar Colony. She further told police that Pradeep was unemployed and had allegedly asked her to indulge into prostitution to earn easy money. He had also promised her that they would get married when they save enough money.

Shockingly, the victim accepted the proposal. ‘Pradeep used to fix the deal with different men who used to pay her money for her services,’ a police official quoting victim’s statement said. Recently, when the girl asked him to marry her, he denied.

She also added that Pradeep along with his cousin and friend had allegedly tried to rape her on Tuesday when she was alone at her home, but she managed to escape.

She immediately reached the police station and filed a complaint against the trio. One of the accused identified as Arun (26), who is Pradeep’s friend, has been arrested while the other two are still at large. All the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian penal Code while Pradeep is also booked for immoral trafficking. The police official have also probing whether Pradeep was running a prostitution racket by exploiting innocent girls.
