J&K govt orders probe into April 12 firing

The J&K government on Monday ordered a probe by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) into the firing incident of April 12 in Handwara, in which three civilians lost their lives. “Kupwara District Magistrate has appointed Handwara ADM Peer Muzaffar Ahmad as an inquiry officer to probe into the firing incident in Handwara, which took place on April 12,” an official spokesman said. The spokesman said any person acquainted with the facts of the incident and desirous to depose can get statement recorded before the officer at Handwara from April 20 to April 30.
