J&K CM admitted in AIIMS

Jammu and Kashmir CM Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was on Thursday flown to New Delhi and admitted in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for treatment. A state government spokesman said his “health is absolutely fine”. Sayeed’s daughter and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti accompanied him to Delhi. An official spokesman said: “Chief Minister undertook a hectic six-hour-long tour of Srinagar city on Tuesday amidst intense cold after which he complained of exhaustion. On Wednesday he took complete rest at his official residence. It was felt appropriate to proceed to the Union Capital for consultation and medical checkup,” adding that Sayeed’s “health is absolutely fine and he is taking rest”. An AIIMS spokesman said that the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister “was admitted in the private ward of the institute today (Thursday) at 12.30 pm.” Spokesperson Amit Gupta said Sayeed was under observation of a team of doctors from the departments of medicine, cardiology and endocrinology.
