Jindal lodges complaint with EC against two news channels

Congress MP and chairman of Jindal Steel and Power Naveen Jindal on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against two news channels belonging to a group for allegedly telecasting false news against him.

‘They have run 85 false news items against me since March 5, when code of conduct for the general elections came in place... We on Tuesday approached the Election Commission, seeking stoppage of this malicious campaign,’ he told reporters after meeting Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath and other officials in the Commission.

Jindal, who is seeking re-election from Kurukshetra in Haryana, said that the two channels were running false news items against him as he had exposed them in 2012 seeking Rs 100 crore for telecasting favourable news.
