Jilted lover kills woman, slits his wrist; dies in hospital

A 29-year-old jilted lover killed self after stabbing a 32-year-old married woman to death in South-west Delhi’s Inderpuri area, police said on Monday.

The accused has been identified as Sanjay, who is a resident of the JJ Colony in Inderpuri area. Before Laxmi got married to one Manoj, she was having a relationship with Sanjay. According to sources, even after her marriage and having two children from Manoj, she was having an illicit relationship with Sanjay. The duo used to meet each other quite often.

After Manoj instructed her to stay away from Sanjay, she called off all relationships with Sanjay. From the past few days, she was not entertaining Sanjay. “On Sunday evening, when she was returning home, Sanjay stopped her and the duo had a heated argument. The argument then turned violent and Sanjay pulled out a knife and stabbed her several times,” police official close to investigation said.

Before she collapsed, Sanjay slit his wrist. A passer-by, who found the duo lying on the road in a pool of blood, made a call to the police control room and a team reached the spot. The duo were rushed to the hospital where Laxmi was declared brought dead while Sanjay succumbed to his injuries on Monday afternoon.
