JFK officials stop ‘12-year-old’ Emma

British actress Emma Watson was stopped at the US immigration because officials thought she was a child. They mistook Watson, 22, as a 12-year-old.

The actress was stopped at John F Kennedy International Airport in New York, where she was questioned by officials at the passport control, who believed she was an unaccompanied minor.

Watson tweeted about incident and wrote: ‘Passport control: ‘unaccompanied minor?’ Me: ‘sorry?’ Passport control: ‘Where is your guardian?’ Me: ‘I am 22! Never wearing backpack again.’ ‘The really sad thing is that this is not the first time this has happened,’ she further posted.

‘It was very embarrassing but she managed to awkwardly laugh it off,’ people.com quoted a source as saying. ‘The Americans are very serious about who they let in and out. If young kids are thought to be on their own, it poses problem. Luckily, Emma managed to convince them,’ added the source.
