Jazzing up the city

A fund raiser musical event — An Evening of Jazz — will take place in the city today, organised by Genesis Foundation.

The proceeds from this fund raiser will go towards the treatment of six children — Diksha Jain [a 15-year-old  girl from  Rajasthan suffering from a congenital heart disease], Anamika [10-year-old who has a hole in her heart], Dipanshu [five-years-old and has a cardiac disorder and needs to undergo PVBD], Lakshya [at the age of four months, he needs to undergo open heart surgery], a 15-day-old child who is suffering from congenital heart disease and Lal Kumar [11-year-old suffering from congenital heart disease and needs to undergo PDA device closure].

Two bands will perform at this musical concert — Sonam and The treble markers and The Kaya Quintet.

‘Through my music, if I can contribute to save a child’s life and put a smile on his/her face, then I think there’s no better reason to sing,’ said Sonam Kalra, lead vocalist, Sonam and The treble markers.

‘Our fund raiser event will have a lot of fun and bring hope and smile to the children through music that creates harmony and brings people together. We are grateful to all those who have supported our cause,’ said Prema Sagar, Founder Trustee, Genesis Foundation.

So get set for some music along with charity.
