Jazz up greys with neon accessories

I am getting married next month. Though I have decided on gifts for almost all my in-laws, I am still confused what to gift my mother-in-law. She is extremely fashion conscious and doesn’t look 55 at all. She also has a good figure. Please advice.

A traditional garb should always be the best option for such an occasion. A nice sari with a blouse that has been cut differently or a salwar kurta with interesting details, or even an embroidered designer jacket which doubles up as a kurta can also be gifted. In case you have known her for long, then you can always take the liberty of gifting Westernwear of her choice. It’s best to take her out when shopping for her.

I want to invest in a different set of lingerie as they are an important part of my dressing. Please help.

The saying what you are from inside shows outside holds good in this case. While a good pair of lingerie can complete your attire, they can be a major factor in ruining your entire look. Nice lacy lingerie sets are always welcome. These days they also come in various prints, with padded and non-padded options. Also push-up bras should be embraced for those rigorous gyming sessions. A corset or strapless set should be kept aside for those off-shoulder babies. And never forget to thank the inventor of G-string. A real blessing for all of us!

My brother just returned from the US. He got a lot of cardigans for me. Is it possible to use them in summer as well?

Well, you didn’t mention the colours that your brother got. Cardigans can be of great help if you want to embrace the layering which is a big trend now. Layering helps you experiment. Provided the cardigans are in cotton knits you can wear them to office or to nightouts. Team ankle- length skirts with a your cardigans.

I have had this grey fascination. As a result I have lots of greys in my wardrobe. Can I make this colour more interesting?

You can always jazz up the boring grey with a dash of neon. Wear a neon T-shirt with a grey suit for a peek-a-boo effect. Or jazz up your grey party dress with some sequinned clutch and pumps. A colourful scarf will also help. Accessories are the best way to make the difference. Just remember not to overdo.

I want to invest in some active wear, since I need them regularly. Help.

Set your goals on panelled pants, scuba-inspired outerwear and tailored body-con silhouettes. Turn the androgynous quotient up by pairing boyish pants with T-shirts and jackets or add a feminine twist with fitted dresses.
