Jan’s date with Delhi designers

In a first of its kind collaboration, the best of Indian fashion joined hands with the best of what their Dutch counterparts have to offer on the ramp. Obviously, sharing space with an international fashion industry is not new for FDCI but for the first time they have made a formal announcement regarding this fashion venture.

The Dutch Fashion Here & Now programe has been initiated to bridge continents by providing a platform for knowledge exchange, inspiration, network and opportunity development for both the fashion communities. The programme is a follow-up of sorts to conclusions made in a report on India by Harmeet Bajaj, the official brand ambassador of the programe.

The FDCI foundation, HTNK Fashion recruitment & consultancy foundation, House of Denim and  Bajaj joined forces to present a program featuring unique collaborations between top professionals like Suneet Varma, Jan Taminiau, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna.

In the three-pronged agenda, the Fashion Exchange Incubator facilitated  working trips, knowledge exchange and co-creation between top fashion designers from both the countries. Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna teamed up with the silks and jewellery label of Diederik Verbakel and Marieke Holthuis. Couture designer for her Royal Princess Maxima of The Netherlands, Gaga and Beyonce, Jan Taminiau is going to team up with Bollywood favourite Suneet Varma. The designers are working on a co-creation collection of a few looks that will be showcased on the opening night of Wills India Fashion Week, 6 October.

A top-notch Dutch crew will be comeing to India to work on the show.
