Jamming for a cause

People for Animals (PFA), an NGO run by  Maneka Gandhi had  hosted a fund-raiser musical evening on december 29 featuring musical duo Sachin Sanghvi, Jigar Saraiya. The evening was  graced by an electrifying performance of Karma Band at Siri Fort Auditorium. PFA is India’s largest organization working for the welfare of animals. With 36 Hospitals-cum-Shelter and over 200 Units all over India PFA aims for more. PFA’s goal is to make Shelter-cum-Hospital in each District. They conduct education programs in schools, fight cases in court and lobby on animal issues in parliament. On the occasion of this fund-raiser - Music Cravings, Maneka Gandhi said “Animals are an integral part of our lives, to live in harmony. PFA has taken a pledge to protect and care for them, and create a safe environment where they are not exploited by any means. As the year comes to an end, PFA joined hands with Karma band and Sachin-Jigar duo to help us in voicing for the voiceless. The proceeds of this show will go towards providing better facilities at our shelters to protect these animals from harsh winters.”  Sachin – Jigar, a well acclaimed musical duo extended their support to raise funds for animal welfare by singing some of their popular numbers like Saibo, Jeene Laga hu, Johny Johny ,Nacho Saare G faadke to name a few.  Supporting the cause along with Sachin - Jigar is Band Karma, performed live for the evening.

Karma is one of India’s most popular bands with more than 1,000 shows across the country and abroad—the band’s performance ensures that each event is a hit, in its own right. What sets the band apart is the ease with various musical genres in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Sufi hits.
