Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dr S P Vaid on Sunday said the state police is enhancing basic facilities for its personnel and officers so that they can deliver in a better way. “Besides other components like weaponry, mobility and networking, we are enhancing the basic facilities for the jawans and officers so that they can deliver in a better way,” he said at a function in Kathua.

The DGP said adequate infrastructure besides other components has an important role in enhancing the professional capabilities of the force. The organisation has been focusing on improvements in this field under its modernisation programme, he said. The DGP said in recent years the J-K police has turned into a large force with multifarious duties and the organisation has been focusing on capacity building of the force in different fields. “Under the progamme, residential and office accommodations have been constructed in every district of the state with an aim to enhance living and working conditions of personnel, especially in far-off areas,” he said.
