It’s official: PM Modi to be sworn in on 26 May
While speaking to the media persons soon after meeting the President, Modi said, ‘I came to call on the President. The President has given me a formal letter of appointment as the PM. He has invited me for oath-taking ceremony on 26 May at 6 pm as we had earlier decided.’ Modi also showed the President’s letter to the media and left for Gujarat Bhawan for party meeting.
In the evening, Rashtrapati Bhawan issued a communiqué, which said, ‘Narendra Modi has been elected leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party and BJP has the majority support in the House of the People, the President appointed Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India.’
