ITPO starts cashless facilities at trade fair

You don’t need to bring in cash to this time’s Trade Fair but only your debit and credit cards. As public in general is cash-strapped due to demonetisation, the organiser — India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO); has made arrangements for cashless shopping from entry tickets to all purchases. Besides, the numbers of ATMs have also been increased from two to 14 including some mobile ATMs.

“A number of service providers have been given access to exhibitors at IITF to offer services for cashless transactions to exhibitors and visitors. We have also made arrangements of swipe machines at ticket counters at Gate 1 and 2 to facilitate sale of entry tickets,” said a spokesperson of ITPO. The organisers have taken various measures to facilitate cashless transactions for the participants (including artisans from MSME, CAPART, EPCH, NMFDC)  and exhibitors at the ongoing India  International   Trade  Fair from November 14-27 at   Pragati   Maidan.

ITPO has tied up with State Bank of India and Axis Bank to provide sufficient number of swiping machines (POS) to exhibitors to facilitate payment transactions by visitors through debit and credit cards.  The spokesperson also informed that for small artisans and exhibitors, SBI has been tied up to open bank accounts, if needed, on site, to enable them to receive the cashless transactions through swipe machines. “PayTm, and Freecharge are also making arrangements to facilitate cashless transactions at IITF through e-wallets,” he added. The trade fair was inaugurated on November 14 but the first five days are reserved for the business classes where B2B exhibitions and trade activities are conducted. The trade fair will be opened for general public from November 19.
