IPS officers in state reshuffle

In a reshuffle in the state’s IPS cadre, most of the 15 officers including two posted with the Kolkata Police were promoted.

Vishal Garg, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), has become Additional Commissioner of Police–V.

He will also continue with the additional charge of the Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime).

Joint Commissioner of Police (Armed Police) Satyajit Banerjee has also been promoted to the post of Additional Commissioner of Police-VI. Like Garg, he will also continue with additional charge of Joint Commissioner of Police (Armed Police).

Humayun Kabir, deputy commissioner (headquarters) of Barrackpore Commissionerate, has been transferred to the Kolkata Police as Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration).

Chelling Simick Lepcha, Commissioner of Siliguri Police Commissionerate, will continue with his present posting but in the rank of Inspector General of Police.

Shakeel Ahmed, who was DIG of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has become the IGP-II of the IB.

Kalyan Banerjee and Anil Kumar have become IG (Coastal Security) and IGP (Organisation) respectively.

Siddh Nath Gupta, who was IG (Organisation), has become the ADG and IG (Establishment).

Sanjay Singh, who was posted at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as IG (I), has become ADG and IG (Enforcement Branch). But he will also continue in his post of the IG (I) of CID as additional charge.

Nishat Parvez has been made the new DIG CID (Operations). He was earlier posted at Bidhannagar Commissionerate as DC (headquarters).
