The Institute of Directors  [IOD] has conferred its Distinguished Fellowship for 2012 to C S Nesar Ahmad, president, The Institute of Company Secretaries of India [ICSI]. The fellowship was awarded by the union minister for corporate affairs and power  M Veerappa Moily during the 23rd annual day of the Institute of Directors held at New Delhi.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India [ICSI] is a premier national professional body. Its vision is ‘to be a global leader in promoting good corporate governance’. The mission of the Institute is ‘to develop high calibre professionals facilitating good corporate governance’. Constituted under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980 to develop and regulate the profession of company secretaries, it functions under the jurisdiction of ministry of corporate affairs, government of India.

 The Institute of Directors [IOD], established in 1990 is  an apex association of directors mandated to augment the professional standards of corporate boards . Its focus is on building on Saturday’s boards by realigning their moral compass and making them more ethical, transparent, accountable and equitable.
