Inter-state gang busted, 2 held

Delhi Police Crime Branch busted an inter-state gang in connection with a sensational dacoity in the house of a businessman in Naraina area in which about 10 armed assailants entered into the house with <g data-gr-id="35">connivance</g> of the domestic servant.

The two arrested gang members have been identified as Sunil Kumar Sahu (26) and CH Bhaskar Rama Belchapada (61). The police seized passports, a broken door of <g data-gr-id="28">digital</g> locker, cash and jewellery worth lakhs from their possession.

According to police, the victim businessman had employed a domestic help at Naraina Vihar from a placement agency in <g data-gr-id="30">mid July</g>. On July 19, when the businessman and his wife were alone in the house, the servant gave a hint to his associates to enter the house. Six to seven persons, wearing mufflers, armed with revolvers, knives, iron rods and screwdrivers entered the house and took the family on gunpoint and robbed away jewellery, cash and other valuable items worth lakhs.

During the dacoity, the assailants tried to open the locker of one of the almirah. But they could not open it and pulled out the locker and took it away. They also robbed away jewellery worn by the businessman and his wife. After committing the dacoity, the assailants also threatened the complainant that they would kill his son if he dared to lodge any complaint with the police in this matter.

On Saturday, the duo accused was arrested from Tughlakabad Institutional Area. 

On intensive interrogation, it was revealed that they would first deploy one of their associates as a servant or a cook in the <g data-gr-id="26">targetted</g> house so that he could ascertain the place where cash, jewellery and other valuable items are kept and also the timings of presence of family members.
