Inspector hurt in exchange of fire with auto-lifters

A police official was injured in Outer Delhi’s Narela area on Monday, when two auto-lifters opened fire on the cops who were trying to arrest them. One of the accused was killed, when the police opened fire in retaliation, while the other accused is absconding.   

The incident took place in a village near Narela at approximately 3.30 pm. The two accused were trying to escape after stealing a car, when officials of Narela police station reached the spot and caught them red handed. 'The two were asked to surrender, but they opened fire at the police, and we had to fire in retaliation. A senior inspector was injured, while one of the accused was killed in the firing.

The accused managed to flee from the spot,’ said an official investigating the case.  one accused was shot.
Acase under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Narela police station.
