Indulging in East Asian cuisine

Situated amidst the popular bylanes of Defence Colony   market in the national Capital, Moets Oh! Bao is not difficult to locate.

The beautiful ambience begins once you climb up the stairs. The well-placed tables proportionately divide the dining and walking space. Even with packed crowd, the waiters smoothly glide to serve the guests.

The Kimchi salad served with crispy fried wafer strips had a tangy taste to it and it makes one automatically gobble a lot of them before the food actually arrives.

Glancing around is delightful to the eyes as one can spot people moving about the busy streets to get to their culinary destination. First dish that came to the table was Bao itself.

The Cracking Pork Belly Bao was scrumptious as one could taste the slow braised pork belly, scallion and the tangy Hoisin sauce. The crushed peanuts added more crunch to the Bao and chewing through them gave way to the meat which was tender and juicy.

The best among the vegetarian option is the Tofu Katsu Bao which had crispy fried tofu filling along with tomatoes, scallion and tankatsu sauce.

The Baos were finished in a jiffy and before one could say sushi, the designer sushis from the house of Oh! Bao was on the table for the East Asian cuisine connoisseurs to gorge on.

The vegetarian spicy avocado roll (sushi) melted in the mouth and spicy mayo added a tinge of chilli in it. The Salmon roll was exquisite as the freshness of the fish gave a whole new dimension to the palate.

Then came the different coloured dimsums in a steaming box and it comprised of  vegetarian and non vegetarian dumplings of joy. The best non- vegetarian dimsum amongst the lot was Chicken and Chive Dimsum and the Trio Mushroom Dumpling won the race in terms of taste and colour.

The whole experience was relished with a glass of Cosmopolitan.

Oh! Bao comprises of main course dishes and also some regular affairs of Indo-chinese dishes but then to all those connoisseurs of Eastern cuisine, the restaurant is a culinary heaven.
