New Delhi: State-owned Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman V P Agarwal has been appointed as vice president of the Regional Board of Airport Council International-Asia Pacific region.

While Agarwal has been appointed as the second vice president of ACI-Asia Pacific, Chairman of China's Beijing Capital International Airport Ltd, Dong Zhiyi has been appointed as the first vice president of the ACI Asia-Pacific regional board, a statement from ACI said on Wednesday.

Announcing the appointments, which became effective immediately, Regional Director of Airport Council International Asia-Pacific, Patti Chau said, 'I wish to congratulate Dong and Agrawal on their appointments and on behalf of the President and other Regional Board Officers, welcome them onboard in their new positions.

I am confident that with their industry experience and knowledge they will contribute greatly to the Regional Board.'
The new appointments arose from the resignation of Prince Turki Bin Faisal Al-Saud from the Regional Board as first Vice President from 1 May.
