India Inc’s Jan overseas investments gallop 40%

Overseas investment by the Indian companies rose by 40.4 per cent to $3.14 billion in January 2016, the Reserve Bank data showed on Monday. 

In January 2015, Indian companies had invested $2.24 billion in overseas markets. The investments were in the form of issuance of guarantees ($1.41 billion), loan ($193.05 million) and of equity ($1.54 billion). The major investors include Emcure Pharma, Glenmark Pharma, Edelweiss Financial, Shree Renuka Sugara, Living Entertainment, Gujarat State Fertilisers and Chemicals, Infosys.
