India Inc cashes in on world Yoga day

Gung ho about the International Day for Yoga, various corporates are rolling out a plethora of merchandise and offering packages and deals to mark the event. Snapdeal has launched a special yoga-themed store featuring over 500 yoga-related products like yoga learning e-guides, mats, modern yoga equipment, yoga-wear and more. 

Customers can also avail exclusive offers and promotions on over 150 special products, for the week. Wellness brand VLCC is conducting free yoga sessions at all its wellness centres and vocational training institutes across the country.

Trendy ‘Yoga’ themed T-shirts have been launched by Freecultr while Reebok has announced a trendy and chic Yoga collection with effortlessly cool silhouettes, capris with bold graphics, colour-popping sports bras and breathable leggings. Besides these, colourful and trendy Yoga accessories such as mats, sippers, grip socks, yoga sleeves and bags are also on offer. The recently launched Art of Living store on eBay has on offer audio CDs and DVDs on yoga. Leading online travel portal Yatra.com has announced special yoga packages for customers. The packages to Hrishikesh in the North and Kovalam in the South will be available on its website from June 20.

“Many people are committing their vacation time to wellness travel, as exhibited by increased spending on fitness, diets, destination choices and to take a break from the rigours of city life,” says Sunny Sodhi, COO, Corporate Travel, Yatra.com. A typical day in the package is designed to begin with sunrise meditation sessions along with Surya Namaskar. Apart from accommodation the package contains yoga sessions and relaxation therapies besides special diets for individuals. 

The packages on offer are designed between three and 10 days and range from Rs 30,000 to Rs 96,500. Yoga sessions are also being held across Delhi in sports complex and parks. DDA sports complex in Dwarka, Rohini and East Delhi will be holding yoga sessions on Sunday. NDMC will start free yoga classes in six of its main parks in the city from June 21 onwards.

Various corporates are holding yoga sessions for its employees. Lite Bite Foods has set up a special Yoga Session — Chair Yoga by instructor Sujeet Singh. “The new modified form of Yoga can be practiced while sitting on chair. Chair yoga is a great way to relax from head to toe without the stress of getting out of your chair. This flow is also perfect for those wanting a quick way to stretch your body and relieve tension while at work, without leaving your office chair,” Singh says.

The Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort is offering complimentary sessions to all guests and employees on June 21 with Yoga and meditation specialist Shubhum.
