India-Africa delegation visits IndianOil’s Panipat refinery

Strengthening strategic ties between India and African countries on Hydrocarbon sector, 4th India-Africa Hydrocarbon conference was held at New Delhi recently.  Adding further strength to this mutual mission, a group of India-Africa delegation visited Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex (PR&PC) after the conclave. 

A warm welcome was accorded to the delegation by Executive Director (I/c) Vijay Prakash, Executive Director (PR) B V Rama Gopal, General Manager (I/c) M R Sonde,  and S K Bose PNC. A technical presentation of refinery and petrochemical operations as well an overview of IndianOil with its refining, transportation by pipeline and marketing strategies as a whole was done by GM (Techinical) PNC TDVS Gopalakrishna.  

Immediately after the presentation an interaction session was held wherein various queries of some members of the delegation on the operations of PRPC were effectively addressed by Vijay Prakash.  Further, the delegation visited Main Control Room (MCR) of Panipat Naphtha Cracker to be apprised of the working through sophisticated computers. Visiting the battery area, the multifaceted operations of various plants were also briefed by the senior technical officials. Finally, the delegation visited Panipat Marketing Complex (PMC) where DGM (RC) R K Singh and senior officials welcomed them and a technical presentation on various installations and facilities at the marketing complex was also done. Thereafter that they visited their facilities and went on to see the various tank-trucks and rail loading operations. They showed keen interest in knowing about the technicalities and various operations at Panipat Naphtha Cracker, Panipat Refinery and Panipat Marketing Complex.  

A photo session was done with the delegation for fond memories.  Saplings were also planted by all individuals of the delegation to mark their visit.

They were impressed with the advanced technologies being adopted in all the operations and facilities of the units and IndianOil as it caters energy need to almost whole country. While returning to New Delhi they expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warmth hospitality and mentioned that the visit remains purposeful and remarkable for them. A memento each to all the delegates was also conferred by the ED Vijay Prakash.
