In the land of Tibet

A home in Tibet is a beautiful tale of longing and love of a daughter for her mother. Tsering Wangmo Dhomoa, Tibet's first poetess to be published in English wrote the book as a tribute to her deceased mother.

After loosing her mother in a car accident on a highway in India, far from her country and her family, Tsering decided to take handful of ashes back to her mothers homeland to a nomadic village in East Tibet. The book is about her journey weaved with her mothers memories and their dreams; as they had only each other as family and refuge.

The launch and the first reading of the book took place in the Capital where book lovers from all age groups gathered to hear selected sections from the book by the author herself. Later, an interactive session took place between the author and the audience where she answered many queries related to the book and also shared her experiences about writing the book.

'Though my mother is not alive but her absence is always lingering around me. It was her dream that someday I should publish a book,' said Tsering.
