Important for batters to get runs, says Cook

After Delhi chased down England's 294 in 48.3 overs,  Alistair Cook said ‘We hope to play better in warmer conditions as it was too cold once the evening progressed. Our batting looked better and it was important for our batsmen to spend some time in the middle. Bell played a superb knock and I am happy with our total.’

England lost their second game on the trot and they need to get off the mark in a different way once they take on India. ‘We haven;t started well, but hope to get things sorted out. The new field rules will take some time to adjust for us as its a bit confusing early on.’ On England's approach with fast bowling, Cook said, ‘We don't plan to blast at them with pace. We want to focus on length and line as Pakistan just did.’
