Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Monday requested the centre to enact a law to prevent assault on medical professionals with proper penalties for the offenders.
‘There has been a substantial rise in cases of violence and assault on medical professionals, their staff and their clinical establishments. The assault on doctors is highly deplorable by the
hooligans and miscreants who under the garb of emotion and sentiments torture doctors and ransack the property of the medical establishments,’ IMA said in a statement.
