IGNOU conducts national consultative meeting

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) conducted a national consultative meeting at Maidan Garhi, IGNOU campus, on Promoting ODL and Online Courses as a part of formulation of New Education Policy, Government of India. 

The meeting was inaugurated by Prof Nageshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU where he discussed the objectives of the meeting and the task assigned to IGNOU by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

Prof Sushma Yadav, Pro-VC welcomed distinguished guests, who came from various institutions like IIT Bombay, MANUU Hyderabad, SOL Delhi University, UGC, MHRD, NIOS, CEMCA, NCTE, KKHSOU etc.

The main objective of the meeting was to identify policy issues to promote Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online courses by adapting different measures such as expansion of ODL, innovative approaches to the curriculum design, development and delivery.

There were two parallel sessions, one on Open Distance Learning (ODL) chaired by Prof Mohd <g data-gr-id="20">Miyan</g>, former VC, MANUU Hyderabad and the other seminar on online courses and Massive Open Online 
Courses (MOOCs) was chaired by Prof D B Pathak from IIT Bombay. The presentations were made in parallel sessions by Prof Manjulika Srivastava and Prof Uma Kanjilal of IGNOU. 

Faculties and staff members from different schools and divisions of IGNOU also attended the meeting.
