ICAI comes forward for victims’ help, flags off relief material-loaded truck

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has also come forward for the relief of Uttarakhand flood victims.

The ICAI president, CA Subodh Kumar Agrawal, on Wednesday flagged off a truck containing relief material, clothes, groceries and other necessities for the Uttarakhand flood victims.

While speaking on the occasion, the ICAI president said, ‘The recent landslides and floods in Uttarakhand have caused extensive devastation. Many people have lost their lives and thousands have been rendered homeless.’

‘ At this moment, the affected people in Uttarakhand need help to tide over the calamity that has fallen upon them, to survive and to rebuild their lives. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to stand with distressed fellow countrymen, and actively participate in the national effort to support them at this difficult time,’ he further said.

The ICAI has also appealed to its members, students and others to donate generously for the noble cause. The ICAI has opened a bank account exclusively for the purpose of collecting donations. The funds thus collected would be contributed to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). More details are available on ICAI website www.icai.org.
