I will never be able to date: Zac Efron

Hollywood star Zac Efron says he will never be able to date because of his fame. The actor says he even tried online dating app Tinder but nobody swiped him because people thought it was a fake profile.

“Dating is something I’ll never be able to do. “As in the dictionary definition of dating, because one way or another I’ve impacted that person’s life and they’ll soon realize it.  A date has to be very long to dispel whatever people think of me,” he told The Times.

Efron, who has dated his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens and Sami Miro, said he’s downloaded dating apps, but it has not exactly worked out for him.

“Amazingly, when I signed up for Tinder, nobody swiped me!. They thought (my profile) was fake.”

The actor says he is not a fan of social media and tries to avoid reading about himself as it used to make him feel depressed.

“I lost my mind because of the internet. I’d read 30 positive things and one bad thing, then I’d harbor that bad thing. It drove me crazy,” said Efron.

The actor recently wrapped filmming Baywatch big-screen reboot with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Priyanka Chopra. Efron began acting in the early 2000s with guest roles on several television series.

Efron’s career reached a turning point with the teen musical television film High School Musical in 2006. The film, which has been described as a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, saw Efron playing the male lead Troy Bolton, a high school basketball player who feels conflicted when he finds himself interested in participating in the school musical with Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Hudgens).
