‘I Don’t try to race ahead’

Sonakshi Sinha, who is relatively new to the film industry and is working hard to play long innings in showbiz, says she never tries to race ahead of her contemporaries. Her success mantra is 'hard work' and 'minding your own business'.

'I believe in healthy competition. I find certain actresses very good and fresh on screen like Deepika (Padukone), Anushka (Sharma) and Parineeti (Chopra). Everyone is here to do hard work and a good job. I don't try to go ahead of them. I don't think of it like that. I think minding your own business is the right way to go,' she said.

Her first film was the superhit
Dabangg,
followed by Rowdy Rathore, Joker and Oh My God. Now she is looking for her next release Son of Sardaar, which hits screens on Diwali.

Her kitty is full with projects like Dabangg 2, Lootera, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 and Namak.

Talking about the Vikramaditya Motwane directed period film Lootera, she said: 'Lootera, in terms of look and character, has been my toughest. I hope people like it. Working with Vikramaditya was like going back to school. He is a wonderful director in terms of getting out a performance. Going back to the 1950s is not an easy thing to do.' She is paired with Ranveer Singh in it.

Dabangg 2 is scheduled for a 21 December release. If Anubhav Sinha had directed Dabangg, which had Salman Khan in the lead role, Arbaaz Khan has wielded the megaphone for the sequel.

In Dabangg, Sonakshi played a desi girl who marries Salman's character Chulbul Pandey and says that her character 'will be more mature this time'. 'It's a continuation of the story. They will be taking their married life forward.'
