H’yana to include Bhagwat Gita in school curriculum

The Haryana government has decided to include ‘Bhagwad Gita’ in the school curriculum from the next academic session for students from class five to 12th.
“We have decided to include Bhagwad Gita in the school curriculum. Gita is knowledge, Gita is our way of life Gita is science and Gita is solution,” Haryana’s education minister Ram Bilas Sharma said.
Earlier in December last year, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had called for declaring Bhagwat Gita as ‘National Scripture’.
“The Bhagwat Gita teaches us the way to lead life in a happy and stress free manner. It shouldn’t be left for old age; it is something that one should read for guidance throughout your life,” she had said while addressing the Gita Prerna Utsav that was held in the national capital.
