Human skull found from roadside in Salt Lake’s Nayapatti

A human skull was recovered from the roadside at Salt Lake’s Nayapatti area on Monday morning. Some children, who were playing there, spotted the skull. Scared with the sight, the children ran away from there and informed their parents.

“Local people then called up Electronic Complex Police Station. The forensic experts collected the skull for examination,” said a police officer. “We believe the skull was only a part of skeleton body, which could be found in that area. A police team is searching the area thoroughly,” the officer said.

However, police interrogated some local residents there. “We learnt that the area was once the den of anti-socials. Several incidents had happened when bodies were thrown at the roadside,” said the police officer.

It may be recalled that human skeleton was recovered from inside a water tank at the roof of an under construction multi storied building in DD Block just a year ago. The construction work of the building at DD-7, close to City Centre shopping mall, was stopped for some time after setting up ten storied floors. A water tank was also set up on top of the building. Police believed it was a skeleton of a woman.

Also, a human skull was recovered from the roof of a house at Tamluk, couple of months ago. Some local residents spotted the human skeleton there. It was a vacant old house. The local residents called the police to recover the skeleton from there.

Meanwhile, the Bidhannagar Police is waiting for the forensic report. “We do not think that the earlier incident, which took place at Salt Lake DD Block has any link with this incident. This one is different,” said a police officer.

The photographers and videographers from Bidhannagar police captured an image the skull and some footage of adjoining areas.
