Housewife found dead, suicide suspected

The victim was declared brought dead after being taken to the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. According to the preliminary investigation police suspect that the woman might have committed suicide by jumping from the balcony situated on the fourth floor of a residential apartment at Kankurgachi area. 

Police said that the victim got married to one Parimal Sarkar, a motor mechanic around four months ago.  In another incident Mina Jaiswal, a housewife from Howrah’s Ghushuri was fighting for her life in a private hospital with burn injuries on her body. The family members of the victim alleged that her husband tried to kill her by setting herself on fire.

In another case of apparent suicide, the body of a youth, Swapan Naskar was found hanging from the ceiling at his maternal uncle’s house. Some local people have alleged that the victim’s uncle was mounting pressure on him to leave the house.

 As Swapan refused to listen, the accused might have strangled him to death and later the body was hanged from the ceiling.
