Hope rises as DU set to announce two more lists

There is hope still for those who have not made it yet to a college of Delhi University. According to well-placed sources on the campus, the university has directed colleges to bring out the sixth and, if necessary, the seventh list as well, ‘to accommodate students on merit.’ The colleges have been told to announce the sixth cut-off list on July 15 and seventh on 18th July.

A senior university official said: ‘The admission for the seventh cut-off will close on 20 July, from 9 at 1 pm. For the evening colleges, the timings for payment of fees is 4 pm to 7 pm.’ The university is reopening on 24 July after the summer vacations. ‘The four-year programme is set to roll on 24 July and we want to accommodate as many students as possible in a most transparent manner,’ the official added. Some colleges like Kirori Mal, Hansraj and Gargi have reopened few popular courses.

Admissions are also open to B.Tech’s most sought-after streams like Computer Science and Electronics in colleges like Hansraj College, ARSD College, IP College for Women, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Rajdhani College, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences, SGGS of Commerce, Shivaji College and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College.

In the past years, the colleges did not notify beyond the fourth list. Thereafter, fresh applications were asked for, which at times invited allegations of malpractice and partiality in the admission process. This year, the university has arranged for centralised registration of applicants and colleges cannot receive separate applications for admission.
