A 32-year-old businessman from Pandua in Hooghly was shot dead by unidentified miscreants late Tuesday night. The incident had triggered tension in the village following the incident. Police said that the victim Riaul Rahaman, who runs a jewellery business, received phone calls on Tuesday afternoon and he had left the house. His family members told the police that he might have received calls from some of his known numbers. As the victim did not return home late at night his family members started a search operation. Local people late last night spotted the body of Rahaman with bullet injuries lying near his house. They also demonstrated with the dead body demanding the arrest of the culprits.
