Hooda attends 'Best of Luck India'

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has extended good wishes for best performance to the Indian players participating in London Olympics and has expressed confidence that the players will win maximum number of medals and bring name to the country.

Hooda was speaking at the concluding function of  BOL(Best Of Luck )India Campaign Roadshow in New Delhi.

Hooda said that for boosting the morale of Indian players BOL (Best Of Luck )India Campaign Roadshow was organised from 17 to 26 July in Haryana. This roadshow passed through various towns and villages of Haryana, in which thousands of school children and sports lovers participated with enthusiasm. People were also encouraged to send good wishes to Indian players through SMS.

Hooda said that during past few years a new sports culture has developed in Haryana. To encourage children of the age group 8-19 years to participate in sports, SPAT programme was started, in which so far 25 lakh children have participated.  The promising players are given scholarships and necessary training. .

Hooda said that his government has given the slogan of ‘Padak Lao, Pad Pao’. The medal winning players of national and international events are also being given jobs in addition to cash prizes.  Hooda said that gold, silver and bronze medal winners in Olympics will be given cash prize of Rs.2.5 crore, Rs. 1.5 crore and Rs. 1 crore respectively. Even those Haryana players, who are participating in Olympics, have been given Rs. 11 lakh each. Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sukhbir Kataria, Sports Secretary Hardeep Kumar, Sports Director OP Singh, boxer Dinesh and Raj Kumar Sangwan and some former Olympics players were also present.
