Hollywood mourns Wes Craven’s demise

Scream stars Courteney Cox, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Rose McGowan, and filmmaker John Carpenter, among others have paid tribute to legendary Wes Craven, who died after battling brain cancer.

The man behind Scream and A Nightmare on Elm Street passed away on Sunday at his LA home. He was 76.

The celebrities took to Twitter to express their grief.

“Today the world lost a great man, my friend and mentor, Wes Craven. My heart goes out to his family,” tweeted Cox, 51.

Gellar said she “had the great privilege of working with #WesCraven one of the kindest most gentle souls, who made great scary films. #RIPWesCraven.”
